The Launch Agents

Launch agents are students with extensive knowledge of student groups at Duke and the best practices and strategies on how to offer assistance to student groups. Sophia is a Senior from Philadelphia and majoring in Economics and Political Science. Over her years at Duke, she has been as Resident Assistant, led the 2015 NCAA Championship bench burning ritual, and led an anti-human trafficking campaign in Southern California. She currently works closely with the Athletic Administration to restructure Football Tailgates, after three semesters at Launch, she has been a Programming Agent, Team Lead, and now serves as Assistant Director.
hannah2Hannah is a junior from Philly/Atlanta studying biology, marine science, and MMS. As the programming team co-lead, she helps facilitate and run workshops. She is available to consult on group retreats/workshop activities and present short leadership modules. On campus, she is involved in DUU S&S and Campus Concerts, the Duke Football Athletic Emissary program, greek life, and Mirecourt SLG. Hannah is an avid animal lover and HBO-watcher and always on the hunt for free food

In her spare time, she likes to make crafts and cookies. She is from the beautiful state of Colorado and snowboards, NOT skis. Outside of Launch, Jess is involved in the arts community and Form, a fashion and lifestyle magazine.


Bengisu is a junior from Turkey majoring in Economics and Psychology. She has been a part of Launch for almost two years now. On campus, she has been involved with International Association, Bass Connections, Mirecourt, and GlobeMed. In her free time, Bengisu enjoys traveling, working out and finding new recipes to cook. Bengisu is the Appointments Team Lead this semester, and is happy to help groups and individuals find their place at Duke. Feel free to talk to her about forming a new student group, leadership, on-campus involvement, organizing retreats, and any problems you might run into with your group!

img_2471Lauren is a sophomore from Boston, Massachusetts studying Cultural Anthropology and Global Health. On campus, she serves as the Director of Communications for the Black Student Alliance and is involved with the public relations team of The Standard. This is Lauren’s first year with Launch and she is a member of the programming team.




Akahne is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia studying Public Policy, Global Health, and Markets and Management Studies. She has been an Agent on the Appointments Team for the past 3 semesters and is passionate about seeing the growth of organizations on campus. Outside of Duke Launch, Akahne is President of Alpha Phi and serves as a panelist on the Undergraduate Conduct Board.



Jessica is a senior majoring in Economics and minoring in Statistics and Education. She has been involved with Launch since Spring 2016 and is on the Programming Team. She enjoys spending her free time hanging out with friends, playing volleyball, and exploring new restaurants in Durham!
